Giggs is not done for yet. He is one man on the team who hasnt hit form yet like they were last season. I think much of it has to do with our strikers who havent had a great start, Rooney who suffered an injury early on, Louie coming out of injury, Ole retiring, and Tevez who wasnt able to train during the pre-season. The team is beginning to gel together and I think we will see the same from Giggs!

I dont think hes over the hill, definately hasnt been himself this season so far, but i think hes not being played in his best position. And certainly in the role he has in the team, he is not as potent as when he is running down the wing. Also i dont think he has it in him to play too many matches consecutively nowadays.

No way is Giggsy over the hill, unless you mean he's still picking up speed

I seem to laugh a lil bit harder at the title of this thread each week that Giggsy plays. Absolute legend, no sign of slowing and is a great catalyst for United's attacks.

Nope, he's not over the hill.

He's go class and style and experience. He has had a prety bland season so far, but he'll come through just when the team needs him the most.

(we gotta have a Giggsy smiley here )

Did u see his performance against Blackburn?? If he was a new signing in that game, we would have been raving how good he was and yesterday against Derby, he is still the man, the greatest left winger the world has ever seen in the last two decades...

Default Giggs is underrated - Ferdinand

Rio is spot on. Giggs has been so good for so long, I think folks take it for granted.

Also wanted to congratulate Giggsy on his 100th goal. Brilliant!!!

Quote:
Manchester United star Ryan Giggs deserves more credit for his footballing achievements, according to team-mate Rio Ferdinand.

Giggs, 34, became the 11th player to score 100 league goals for the club when he got the opener in Saturday's 4-1 win over Derby at Old Trafford.

"I think he's a fantastic footballer," Ferdinand told BBC Sport.

"I don't think he gets the credit he deserves as a player for what he has achieved," he added.

"He's probably one of the best players I've played with, if not the best, and continues to go from strength to strength.

"He will be appreciated more when he's retired. When we go abroad he's respected a lot more in foreign countries than in this country.

"When people throw names around saying someone's done this or done that for the Premier League, he very rarely gets mentioned.

"It's a shame we are not appreciating a player who's been the most successful footballer of our generation probably."

Giggs put United in front against Derby five minutes before half-time for his 100th goal in 519 league appearances.

"It's a great achievement for myself, not many people have done it so I'm really pleased," the Welshman told BBC Sport.

Sir Alex Ferguson felt Giggs's landmark should have received more acknowledgement during the game itself.

"I am surprised there was no announcement about Ryan's milestone," said the Manchester United boss.

"Maybe no-one knew but I certainly did. It is a fantastic achievement, absolutely marvellous.

"Not many players have scored 100 league goals but the service Ryan has given us, quite apart from the goals, is outstanding."

The Scot added: "Ryan is a great character, a great person and a fantastic servant to us all."
