Squad numbers registered

United's squad numbers for the 2008/09 campaign have been registered with the Premier League and there are some notable inclusions, especially for the younger members of the Reds' playing staff.

Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael have been handed the number 20 and 21 shirts respectively, while young strikers Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda will wear no.19 and no.41 if and when they are used this term.

Hm, with Welbeck being given the #19 I think we might be seeing a bit of him this season. Also nice to see Manucho handed the #26. Seems as though we've got a work permit for him then yeah?

Also it's interesting to note that Rafi was given Dong's #21 and Dong didn't get a squad number. Should tell the whole story there..

As for Levi's comment, I doubt the 14 being open stil has anything to do with Henry. Personally I feel Henry is too old to join us now and he's lost it due to injury. I know this isn't the right place to be making comments like that but it's too late now. 14 was left open because no one wanted to take it. Seems the twins got numbers right next to each other and it wouldn't really make sense for some other other players with higher numbers who have had those numbers for some time now, to just up and switch to a random number like 14.

Good to see Wellbeck get a lower number...hope to see some of him this season, although I would have thought that Campbell would have gotten a lower number as well.

Not much change other than that, but im surprised to see Fabio get the number 20 I must say. I sort of just assumed that the jersey would go to the new striker we are supposedly about to sign...
