Default United with Louis Saha

So after watching the Sunderland matches (hope you guys could pick me out in the stands, i was the idiot yelling most of the time) I want to hear your thoughts on how we played post Louis' introduction, and in general how we should change our formati nogoing forward. I thought the change was striking and in particular it realy improved the play of Tevez who I thought has been rubbish so far. He actually might have looked like a have decent player once Louis was brought on.

It should definitely be a 442, with Saha as one of the strikers and either Rooney or Tevez as the 2nd one.

Saha provides height, heading ability, finishing with either foot and the ability to link up with the midfield exceptionally well.

Tevez is a very good player, but I still don't understand why we got him. His style of play is redundant and with Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves acquired this offseason, quite a few folks are going to be left out from playing.

Hopefully Saha can stay fit [wishful thinking I know] for the rest of the season.

what i noticed during the match, was the runs he made into space, and how he played off of defenders, and pointed constantly to where he wanted the ball. what i thought he gave the team the most was direction and a new mental image of how united should play. tevez just doesn't know where to demand the ball, while saha creates the platform for other players to use their creativity. for me, i am more impressed by saha now then ever. his movement away from the ball was just phenomenal.

I read an interview with Tevez. He talks about how excited he is for Rooney to return so that he can work up front with him. Am I the only one who wants to see Rooney back so that he can work up front with Saha? Tevez the new, not as affable, Solskjaer?

tevez the new, not anything like, solskjaer, not nearly as good as rooney, and not good enough for united. maybe i'd be a little less apathetic about him being on the squid if we didn't have rooney, but i just haven't seen enough class to warrant the hype and i'm a little pissed off. i look on rooney's return (tevez's soon to be benching) like a kid on christmas eve.

To be fair to Tevez. He was brought into the first team squad a couple weeks ahead of schedule. He's been asked to play out of position and do things that aren't necessarily his strong points. Can't blame him for that.

His true assessment should be when he was pair up with Saha and played his familiar roll of secondary striker. He was awesome.

Again, I'm personlly puzzled why we got him. He's too good to be on the bench, but at the same time I just don't see how an effective tandem of Rooney and Tevez will work. One will be playing out of position, thereby wasting there talents.

Speaking of Ole and the role he played in the first team... imo, we need to find another striker that has no qualms about being a super sub. Come on when needed and provide an instant ability to score. No issues with not starting. Team player... enough, I'm get sad that Ole retired again...

a big reason i think ole accepted that role, was 1) the love the fans gave him 2) his ability to watch the match was like already playing it. i'd love to see him manage. he'd be great

wasn't this suppose to be a saha love fest thread? i blame you funk for changing topics on me next thing you know, we'll be talking about richardson

well, once saha was introduced, we looked better in attack, in terms or sharpness and movement, time will tell before we hit form
