Ferguson (left) has great faith in Queiroz's knowledge and ability
Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has hinted that he is considering leaving the club.
The 54-year-old is in his second spell as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson, having rejoined the club in 2004.
But Queiroz told the Sun: "I need to reflect on what I want to do in this last part of my career.
"In December I'm going to stop and think about myself. My contract is perpetual and caters for various options but I have only one life."
Queiroz was Ferguson's number two from June 2002 until he left to become manager of Real Madrid in June 2003.
However, he was sacked as manager of the Spanish club in May 2004 and returned to Old Trafford in the summer of the same year.
"I am going to think about him and go for the route that makes me most happy," he added.
"I read Sir Alex said that one day he would like me to be United's main coach. That is one reason I am in this project but I'm not desperate about it.
"In your personal and professional life you always have more ambitions."
wont be the first time will it?
i hope he stays though, he gets on well with fergie who is always full of praise for him.

Queiroz on United future
Quotes of the week
Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has dispelled talk he is considering his position at Old Trafford.
Reports hinted Sir Alex Ferguson's number two had grown frustrated at The Red Devils and was set to make a decision on his future in December.
However, in an interview with Sky Sports News, the Portuguese coach has stated the quotes were taken out of context and that he is happy in Manchester.
Queiroz was instrumental in bringing the likes of Nani and Anderson to United this summer and is looking forward to helping the youngsters fulfil their potential.
Misunderstanding
"I was surprised when a friend asked me about that," he told Sky Sports News. "It's just a misunderstanding for sure.
"The most important thing is I'm happy. I'm very happy with my job and my position at Manchester United.
"The club is happy with me, so there's no reason to waste time talking about that issue. There's nothing to say, because there's nothing in it.
"At the moment we've made a lot of decisions with a medium and long-term in mind. We expect a lot of things from our youngsters that we've brought in.
"There are a lot of hopes and expectations about the future and to be part of that future is really a big challenge for all of us."

DAVID Beckham could be in line for a Premier League reunion with Jose Mourinho or Carlos Queiroz if his LA Galaxy side get their way.
The MLS outfit began their search for a new boss yesterday with Jurgen Klinsmann the other big name in the frame to replace Frank Yallop, who quit Galaxy this week after a disappointing season.
Klinsmann lives in California, while Manchester United assistant Queiroz has previously managed in MLS, and Galaxy president Alexi Lalas said: “We are prepared to push out the envelope on this to bring in somebody who is going to have an impact on the Galaxy and also on the league and sport in many of the same ways that David Beckham did.”
i hope queiroz doesnt decide to leave to manage another club

Carlos Queiroz has indicated that he would like to become Manchester United manager by declaring that he wants to stay at Old Trafford for another decade.
The Portuguese tactician has been Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant for five years in two separate spells.
Ferguson has yet to decide when he will step down but Queiroz, who has managerial experience with Real Madrid, believes he will have age and experience on his side when that time does arrive.
"I came here with a set of well defined functions which I carry out today and which I can do in the future," he told the News of the World.
"The conditions are here for me to stay another eight or 10 years.
"Sir Alex is happy, I'm happy, the Glazers are happy.
"If they think I should stay on, it is up to them. I've got extremely comfortable conditions in Manchester."
Queiroz has been linked with the role of Portugal coach but he claims he would not want to be considered.
"No Portuguese coach should ignore that possibility but I'm not offering myself," he said.
I think that Carlos has done much for the club, however we have seen many assitants come and go, as wee all know as long as Sir Alex is there that's all that matters, Assitants will go and Sir Alex will just keep picking the right ones, like the players and coaches etc etc. Carlos is a top man, we shouldn't lose him, but at the same time i don't see him as a future manchester united manager, i thinka stronger more respected personality is needed for the job like guss hiddink or Jose mourinho.
