Default Real Madrid at it Again!

Well, the ass-hat is at it again. Schuster couldn't even make it two whole months without starting the same tripe all over again. I can't believe anyone liked United's pursuit of Berbatov to this kind of crap. Someone has got to slap this prick up-side the head repeatedly and often.

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster is hopeful that Cristiano Ronaldo will be wearing the Spanish giants' colours this time next year.

Madrid's pursuit of Ronaldo this summer was one of the most protracted and high-profile transfer sagas of recent years, but it ultimately ended in disappointment for the Primera Liga champions with the Portugal winger opting to remain at Manchester United.

The 23-year-old Ronaldo has made no secret of his desire to one day play for Madrid though, and Schuster believes a deal could be struck in 2009 for a player he feels should win the Ballon d'Or this year.

"I think that next year it is going to be a little more complicated for his club to retain him. There is hope that next year he could be with us," said Schuster.

"You need to do everything possible (to sign Ronaldo) because this player is worth it," added the German, who felt Madrid had a decent chance of landing Ronaldo this summer.

"Since the start I thought it was possible although difficult. Possible because the player really showed an interest," he said.

"His class, his position on the right wing and in other areas of the pitch, his work in attack..he would have been an important signing. He didn't come, but this is the team we have here now and we need to have complete faith in them."

Madrid's summer pursuit of Ronaldo came following a remarkable year of success for the Portuguese ace, who in helping United claim a Premier League and Champions League double struck a remarkable 42 goals.

For Schuster that should result in Ronaldo being rewarded with the Ballon d'Or - the award given to Europe's top footballer of the year - even though his own goalkeeper at Madrid Iker Casillas is also in the running to win the title.

"I think that this year Cristiano Ronaldo deserves it. He was the leading scorer in Europe with 42 goals, has won the league and Champions League...that should be sufficient," Schuster said in Marca.

"He didn't do so well with the national team (at Euro 2008), but this was due to Spain and Germany.

"It's easy to say that Spaniards Iker and Xavi (should win it), but if you take into account the overall season you see that Cristiano is the one."

This saga won't end until Ronaldo finally does go to Madrid, and make no mistakes it will happen.

All we can hope for is that he plays well for us while he is here and when it's time for out goodbyes, milk every penny out of Madrid.

This transfer saga was never gonna end juyst because Ronaldo committed to United for one more season. If his heart was truly at United, he'd come out and say he doesn't plan to move from United for years to come.

His heart is set on an eventual move to Madrid and really, who are we to deny someone their dream. I just wish he could have been more classy in the whole affair.

A part of me will be glad to see the back of him anyway, but there is no doubting that we need him at the moment, and when he hits full form, United will be an awesome attacking force.

Yeah, well, there is also the fact that the Glazers refused to let him go. They also promissed to do everything to keep this prick at United. From one point of view, I would like to see him go as a lot of people hate United simply because of Ronaldo (not that I'd care much about it). From other point of view, I hate Real and I'd love to see Untied slaping them and selling Ronaldo to Barca or another club.

City also will try to buy CR7, that will be a good thing for us as United will look a place where they will get more money for him.. i dont think real could go 150m for him...

Schuster wants to put some frustration at OT and in CR7 minds!!!
That could make him think again about that!!!!

pain in the backside so this is. i mean its obvious ronaldo wants to go, but you would think he would want to go on a positive note and not be remembered like he is going to be remembered. Now people are getting fed up with madrid and ronaldo in this and like me will probably be glad to see him go, worlds greatest player and we cant wait to see him go??? contradiction i think but it says alot for how ronaldo (and madrid) have handled this whole thing. If Ronaldo said he was at United till the end of the season atleast then i dont want to hear from madrid about ronaldo untill the end of the season.
i think that ronaldo could see out his contract with us tho i mean he would be 26? 27? its not old, he would still be one of the greats and then could go to real for his final 6 or so years.
what baffled me last summer tho was his reason for leaving....he won all he can at united and wants to move on to a new challenge. so in 3 years when he has won it all at madrid will he want a dream move to the Serie A with milan?? that peed me off a bit. its up to him tho and nothing we can do will prevent him moving, like someone said i just hope we get all we can from real financially, then we can all enjoy the quiet anti-ronaldo media and guaranteed "is he going or not" every time the transfer window opens

Well, im pretty hopeful that Jessica Alba would join me in bed today along with that bird with a german sounding name that lewis hamilton is going out with (just out of spite really).

To be honest, i find this obsession with ronaldo worrying. Whenever a transfer deal gets so prolonged and hyped up it is just destined to be a disappointment. All this time waiting will create so much expectation and if he doesnt settle in there straight away then they will kill him.

I really dont want to lose ronaldo though, not because i like him but because he brings out the best in Rooney. It is Ronaldo not Berbatov that brings Rooney to life.

true, the next best thing to selling him to barca would be him moving over there for about 80 million + and being a flop. because all this is doing is making him hype, people seem to be believing the hype aswell so lets hope he isnt that. but as i said, he can have another 2 - 5 years with us at least and still go to madrid and be a great.

Ronaldo COULD easily stay here another 4 years before he moved, but I would bet my house that he won't. His heart is set on a move and I'll be glad to get another two good seasons from him, including this one, before he heads off to sunny Spain. I think anything else he gives us is a bonus.

Who knows though, he could possibly come to his senses and realise that United made him and that he owes United as much as he seems to think United owes him.

I'd debate that point based on the fact that Berbatov has only been around for a few games so far, and I'm not entirely convinced that Rooney's recent form and Berbatovs arrival is entirely coincidental...

Of course, not to say Ronny isn't a massive assett himself. Personally, I hope he gets over this immaturity and settles down. I'm actually hoping that Berbatov works out exceptionally well so that will give Ronny something of a new challenge - not being such a shoe-in for best player on the team. I'd rather he stayed long term as long as he gets something of an attitude adjustment and adjusting his attitude is probably easier than finding someone else of his talent. He is still pretty young.

I really place all the blame for Ronaldo's attitude squarely with Real Madrid. This is nothing more than a deliberate (and reasonably successful) attempt to unsettle a player with another club. I swear to God there's gotta be some FIFA rule against this but if there isn't, there outta be.

well they havent really done much to ronaldo except declare that they are interested in a player, i may be wrong but i dont think there is a rule against saying you admire a player and would like to see him in your team in the near future. if united did complain then all you will hear is how united do it, so its ok for them to declare interst but when another club does it to a united player then its war.
i dont like the way they went about it but what can you do? FIFA or UEFA wont do anything, it is madrid after all. now if the shoe was on the other foot how much would you bet united would have letters of complaint from them and fines imposed lol
