Default Anderson Warned by team mates

United pals save party boy Anderson from Fergie fury

Worried team-mates have noted the £18million summer signing's fondness for socialising and delivered a blunt message about the perils of over-indulging.

Senior players are believed to have given the 19-year old former Porto midfielder a dressing down over his conduct away from the pitch and left him in no doubt about the consequences of incurring the wrath of manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

After being urged to concentrate on his career and forget the trappings of his new-found fame and fortune, the Brazilian appeared to heed his team-mates' advice with a performance against Wigan on Saturday that earned glowing praise from Carlos Queiroz.

The United assistant manager said: "That was more like the Anderson we saw at Porto and I was delighted with him. I know what he is capable of and there were signs that he is beginning to settle and play at the level we want from him."

While Anderson appears, belatedly, to be falling into line, Ferguson has expressed misgivings over Louis Saha's involvement in France's squad to face the Faroe Isles and Lithuania.

Saha withdrew from the Wigan game with a recurrence of a knee injury and Ferguson warned France coach Raymond Domenech to be wary of adding to his jinxed striker's catalogue of injury problems.
it seems like anderson might need to re-braid his hair soon because if he keeps it up he will definately be getting the hair-dryer treatment.

i read somewhere that he was involved in the 6 prossie orgy at ronaldo's house, i cant imagine fergie will be too happy to hear about that either.

This is unfortuante and if Anderson is smart, he will really take the advice of the senior players.

In fact, he should be given copies of Giggs and Keane's autobiographies. Each talk about the consequences of players who partied way too much (Lee Shapre, Dwight Yorke). SAF doesn't like that behaviour and he is quick to remove players from United for it.

Now if Anderson truly wants to succeed at United, he better get with the program.

Hopefully his performance against Wigan is just that.

Well let's hope that his attitude is permanently curbed by the time SAF calls it quits!

I really want Anderson to succeed. Too rich and famous too young, that kind of pressure will hurt your game. Kudos to the senior players for letting him know, before SAF dries his locks for him.

Can't wait to watch him mature, like Ronaldo did. Imagine him, Nani, Ronaldo, and Rooney ALL on song! Not to mention everyone else.

he has gone and defended himself after this weekends antics. I think he will soon learn, i mean look at how ronaldo improved for instance, he use to dive all the time, now he only dives when when we are behind or in big occasions -still a massive improvement though.

The 19-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a highly promising start to life in Manchester, and he is keen to buck the trend of previous South American imports who struggled to settle into United's style of play.

“I know the stories about the problems of the South Americans at Manchester United, but I believe that this season Carlos Tevez and I will break those,” Anderson is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

“A Brazilian should be able to triumph in any club in the world, including this one, so I won’t make any excuses.

“I just want the chance to show my quality. I am Anderson, not Veron or Kleberson – this is the difference. Perhaps I have arrived with more ambition than those two did.

“I am happy with the way my stay in England has gone so far. The advice I have had from the manager has just been to work hard and wait for my chance.”

Anderson was one of United's outstanding performers in last weekend's draw at Arsenal, during which Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas accused the Brazilian of feigning injury.

"I am young but I am very pure on the field," Anderson protested. "I do not try to trick people with my actions or practice any theatre.

The theatre is for actors, I am a footballer and I just want to play. I saw the comments of the manager and I would rather concentrate on those.

“That makes me very happy because those words are coming from one of the best coaches in the world.”
