The problem is apples and oranges. While it's true that they do have the potential to be a great striking duo, I'd rather wait until a little more time passes until I venture an opinion.

As zarafa said, we have a lot more firepower from the midfield now than we did then (anybody else wonder if Nani can score from less than 30 yards out?) I don't think they'll combine for the same kind of goal tally that Yorke and Cole got but I'm still pretty excited about the pairing. The highlights I've seen from the Boro game were very encouraging.

PS: I respectfully refuse to vote at this time

I just don't see Tevez and Rooney coming close to those numbers. Obviously, I have no problems if they do.

How many did Rooney score in all competions last season?

27 the most. So you honestly think that Tevez is going to put in 26+ goals in the same season?

Yorke and Cole were beyond special.
Don't get me wrong, i love Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, but i think Tevez and Rooney can score just as many.

lytec is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Rooney and Tevez

While I would say for out and out strike force it wou;d have to be Cole and Yorke but I do think that as a whole package Rooney and Tevez. They also do alot of leg work and set up goals for the midfielders to put away.

Yorke and Cole were a class act, but let's not forget how many of the goals came from crosses...

Rooney and Tevez seem more likely to score straight down the middle, than from crosses.

Too early to vote.
