Default Ronaldo Best in England?

Spolier in the quoted section

Headline from football365 reads

Quote:
Ronaldo Inspires Win, Again

Sir Alex's chargers cruised into second spot in the Premier League with victory over Fulham at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo may have missed out on the Ballon d'Or to Kaka, but he was typically lethal in front of goal as he bagged a brace. The winger might not be the best player in Europe, but whether you like it or not, he is probably the best in England...
so are they right. is he the best in england?

Ronaldo has been extremely impressive for United this season. It's scary to think that he was out a few games earlier on. Wonder how many more goals he would have scored.

He has involved his teammates and has been very good to watch. The thing is, he contributes so much, I can't think of another player for another team that does as much as he does for United. Dada in another thread had a stat for goal contributions/goals for Ronaldo and Kaka. Ronaldo's stats dwarf Kaka's, yet Kaka is winning World Player of the Year awards... go figure.

What has me is that he has so many goals as a winger. It's quite ridiculous. And to think that Tevez hasn't really started scoring as well. When Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez sync, it is over.

So my vote is yes.

AHEMMMM....and Saha

See I have to disagree. Ronaldo has been shite at parts this seasons. However, you've begun to see a patern with the lad. He doesn't peak too early which is a testament to his maturity (or SAF's wisdom) that he's better as the season progresses. I've always felt that players have cycles through a season when they are effective (Scholes Novemeber -February, Giggy January-March, Rio January ) but this lad had a long season late last year at such a high level that we might be seeing just the beginning.

Without a doubt he is the best, he has all the grreat attacking attributes including heading(Which kaka and messi do not). I think the champions are are not the saem without him, he is the one player in midfield or attack we cannot afford to not have.

If were talking this season's Premiership then I'd say Fabregas, but Ronaldo is the better overall player...certainly the best last year.

I'd say he is. The only person capable of stopping Ronaldo is himself and we all have seen how deadly a player he is from last season and now he is working on an even better World Player of The Year campaign. This guy has exceeded my expectations so far for an encore to last season as he not only is lighting up the Prem but the CL as well. He has had the odd off day but for the most part he has been a class above the rest. Fabregas has been doing well for himself as well and has a strong case statistically but to me he isnt on Ronaldo's current level (heh Fabregas had a hard time trying to upstage Anderson when we met them). Being able to play so fearlessly with the knowledge that defenders are after your ankles every match is somethnig I give Ronaldo alot of credit for and I hope he continues this form into the new year and towards huge chunks of silverware.

My vote: Ronaldo.

Right now with his current form, I don't think there is any player better in England, and you could even through in a good fight for best in the world.

It is scary to think about how young he is...
