Won't be too upset if he leaves. Like plenty of others have said, he isn't irreplaceable. He has put in good performances this year, but he has made some pretty sweet blunders before.

Wes is a great player, he just can't cross the ball well at all! Yet Mr Ferguson continues to play him as a full back.

I really wish Brown would sign his contract already. It would then allow me not to read articles like this.

I really admire Brown. He's the kind of palyer that remains in the shadow but he's an effective player. We must keep him. He's doing so much for the team at present playing both as a full back and a center back at times. It'll be really disappointing to see him leave; I hope we reach an agreement.

if ferguson tell me that we won't buy another right back so i accept with u, brown must stay. (for backup neville of course)
but, if we will buy another one so brown can leave. i dont think he is a world class right back like neville, he is far from him in defending and attacking. also, look the reportedly teams that want him - sunderland and newcastle. the first team are really poor and the second team are not alot better than the first. thats a proof that he is very a regular right back. |

Must say it is quite worrying as he has been on good form recently in the absence of both our skipper and first choice right-back Gary Neville. He also provides valuable cover for both our centre backs .
However if we are going to sign Alan Hutton as so many newspapers are reporting then he will provide suitable cover. We also have Gerard Pique and Johnny Evans rising in the ranks so we won't be held ransom by him for miney. But I will be dissapointed if he does leave. Let's hope he doesn't and signs on with United. |

I think you're all crazy. Wes Brown is one of the best (if not the best) young defenders in England, and he's getting better every season. Even SAF proclaimed him to be the most talented defender at OT. In years to come he'll be the backbone of the England defence. We should be upset if he leaves as neither Pique nor Evans have the experience, control or flair Brown has, especially in his more natural position of central defender. It will cost more money to replace him (if he doesn't go on a Bosman) than what he's asking for in the new contract. In my opinion Brown is a better defender than Vidic, certainly when on the ball. And as for having bad times and making blunders, you can't name me one United player who hasn't. You lot soon forget that Brown was pivitol member of the treble winning side. If he's a "key player to Uniteds Future - SAF" then he deserves a contract on par with the other regular United defenders.

I'm pretty much on RedFred's side here (minus the remark of "young"...the guy's 29, right?). Brown has been extremely valuable this season while also being exceptionally under appreciated by many United fans. I also feel that the major dispute here is less about money than it is about playing time; which I think is very admirable. At the end of a career, is it more important to have been on the pitch playing every game and winning nothing or sitting on the bench and winning everything? I'd opt of the former. And if Brown wants to leave because he's more concerned with playing soccer than he is with gathering trophies, then I commend him.
