Beckham tipped for role as United ambassador

Any animosity that might have existed between the men is said to have all but disappeared, leaving nobody in opposition to an approach when Beckham nears the end of his stay with Los Angeles Galaxy.

That would be cool to see Giggsy and Becks continuing to serve the club even after their playing days are over. I mean, everyone knows United around the world, but having these legendary players go out as official ambassadors (though I don't exactly know what they'd do beyond PR stuff) seems like a cool idea.

Its largely a marketing role, but as Sir Bobby has shown over the years. His words of advice and recommendations to the board, staff and players is taken very seriously.

Both Giggs and Beckham would offer valuable input to the the club.

Beckham is a worldwide recongizable figure. United have a reported fanbase of 333 million. Hmmm... See where this is going?

yeah beckham is not stupid. He has cologne and boots to sell in mass. this works both ways, no doubt. I'd like to see what Galaxy think of this. It's curious that he isn't trying to boost the club he's massively invested in. strange

good luck to him. He really does come across as a very nice guy in all the interviews ive seen of him.

Giggsy would make an immense amassador. Model professional that does his talking on the pitch and leads by example.

I don't really like it, but I also have the common sense to know that even though I've never set foot in England, the commute between London and Manchester is not only prohibitive, but nonsensical to attempt on a regular basis.

Besides, if nothing else, it's a chance for an aging United veteran to show those Gooners that they've still got some way to go.

i hate to see him in a gunner training shirt....it will be good to see him becoming an ambasador..but i hope he'll do his work with all his heart...like Sir Bobby does
