Villa – who is expected to be a key man for Spain at this summer’s Euro 2008 finals – has also been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Now that is interesting.
What do you say: is he the right man for United? Or you think that his signing won't solve our attacker's problems?

I don't know what to say. I haven't watched him so much, but I can say he is a good forward. Have seen some great goals from him. But I have his feeling that he isn't the right man for our team. Can't explain this.

I can: he is yet another support man, for the deep-layed attacker. we already have plenty of them. our target should be from the likes of Toni, Eto'o, Huntelaar etc

Funny enough while there were few Utd fans out there wishing for Torres I always thought that Villa was the better of the two Spanish international strikers(not necessarily that I want either at our club). Definitely a quality player who has had soem goalscoring success both at the domestic and international level so if this rumor produces any fruit it may not be that bad a deal at all (at a slightly reduced price compared to that 20m tag). Only drawback really is his height as I think we need to get a little more height in that position.

Ideally though I will go back in time and say I'd like to see Huntelaar in that open spot up front on our depth chart come next season.

I dont like Villa. I think Torres is better than him, and Valencia´s player dont play for the team, only for him.

To be honest I think our target should be Huntelaar ahead of both Villa and Benzema. He's young, scores a lot of goals and should be a more feasible target. He kinda reminds me of Van Basten. With so many talented players in United I think he will improve significantly. United have already shown interest in him so I think we should seriously pursue signing him for next season.

Well, he is a creative striker. The only problem that most large clubs have is that they have to break down zone defenses. Usually, the defense will allow them to have possession but will be forced to take low percentage shots. Why do they have to take low percentage shots? Well, the box will typically be flooded due to being pinched.

He won't provide anymore scoring opportunies in my opinion. Quality is already here. The 4-4-2 (plays as a 4-3-3 rotation) is already being used to its max. I don't know what else Fergie can do. He already has stated that he has the most talented squad that he's ever managed.

I'm afraid Villa isn't the answer. I'd recommend getting Bosingwa instead.

They moved RVN since he's a box player. Huntelaar is no different. They don't want to just send long balls up to a target man . . .

I realize that Fergie wants 4 to rotate along with a capable third (due to Saha's injury history) but I don't see the point in spending 20-30 to get that player.
