I think the fee quoted for him is crazy but I put that down to media speculation. If we areto sign him I would not see him as a bad buy. He knows the PL well and is still better than most strikers. That said he is not the same player he once was.....if he was he wouldn't be available (if he is). We have enough young pacey forwards that I don't see his loss of pace as being an issue. His experience and finishing though will be an asset. If he does it'll be in a deal worth around 10M which given the crazy nature of the market is probably about right.

Barca may well be keeping Eto'o and they can't play them both (according to Guardiola) as there will only be one centre forward. I don't see either wanting to sit on the bench.

If this happens I will be reasonably pleased because we need a striker but I would much prefer Berbatov who is at his peak rather than past it. Eto'o himself is also available......although despite his class (in the past anyway) there is something off about him.....not sure what it is though.

I'm going to take a guess. Because your Berbatov eyewear is on...

I really hope the Henry talk is a decoy to sign Eto'o.

Henry is not a suitable answer because of injury issues.

Lets not rush for any striker because the need for one is required...

I watched Henry a few days ago in a friendly against some Mexican team and he played very well! He might not be the same, but he is definitely good enough to be the fourth striker at United. This much is certain! However, I don't think he's worth 20 mil either. I'd rather pay 30 mil for Benzema than 20 mil for Henry.

In any case, I would be more comfortable if we had another striking option because for one it gives the manager another attacking option and secondly, it reduces the burden on the other players as well. All this will eventually keep the squad fresh and upbeat throughtout the long season!

Maybe the fee is a bit too high, but I would like to see the guy at Man Utd, he would give a much bigger threat upfront that Berbatov and Huntelaar who lack the pace to run at defenders. He could also give us conver on the left wing if Nani and Giggs get injured or suspended. I didn't know he had a few injuries last year so maybe it would be better if we got someone like Eto'o who is similar yet younger, although he has not been the same since his injury.

I would be enormously surprised if we signed Eto'o. Everything I read in the Spanish press says that Guardiola has decided to keep him and have him as his starting number 9.

Time may prove me wrong but I don't think Eto'o is the player we need. He has a really poisonous temperament from what I understand. There are countless stories about him falling out with team mates both at Barca and Cameroon which have been reported in Spain in the last two years. This was the primary reason Guardiola wanted him out. Two years ago he was unsellable but he has p*ssed a lot of people off the Camp Nou. Latest reports suggest that Guardiola might give him another chance as he hasn't found a suitable replacement and Tottenham want too much for Berbatov and Arsenal too much for Adebayor.

If anyone could get the best out of Eto'o then I think it is you know who but I have quesitoned fergie's judgement so many times in signing players only to be proven wrong that I have finally decided to accept that he definitely knows best. If he has generally passed on Eto'o (who was made available to top European clubs and not not a single one has made an official bid....what does that tell you?) and has a hard on for Berbaotv, I have to respect that he definitely has his reasons..........

Henry would be a back up, rotation striker. Which wouldn't be a bad option. He'd offer something new but I don't think he'd improve the team much. Someone at their peak though....like guess who....berbatov or someone young and explosive like Benzema (my dream signing) could improve the team. I think we clearly need to strive for improvement, that's the only way we are going to retain the CL.
