Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside recently revealed that a move could be in place to break the club's transfer record; and it is understood that the player in mind could be Manchester United striker Louis Saha.

Saha is valued by his club Man Utd at around £9 million, and the Frenchman is desperate to leave Old Trafford in order to play more first team football.

Bolton have yet to properly replace Nicolas Anelka, who left last January for Chelsea.

Saha would represent a great acquisition for the Wanderers', who are also set to lose striker El Hadji Diouf this summer.

Right now I honestly would rather keep the guy considering the current state of things. Right now it seems like the world has gone mad and without a clearcut replacement I really dont want us losing any player besides Ronaldo. I want our team to stay together and persevere through this nonsense.

Ideally, this should happen. Yet, I don't think that Saha is going to stay with us after all. This is a situation similar to Smith's last year - no one expected that he will leave, he told he'd rather stay and struggle for his place in the team, but eventually he moved to Newcastle. It wasn't a smart thing to do, but he played some matches which he probably wouldn't play with us. Saha is different, though - he has the skill, Fergie knows he can use him efficiently. If he's fit, he shouldn't go anywhere.

Even if he chooses to leave, I hope he'll leave for something better than Bolton!

I agree that Saha should go to a better team than Bolton, but I for one would like to see him leave the club. He is far too fragile to be worth his salary in my opinion. Inevitably, he gets hurt before the middle of the season and we are left with far too few choices up front. Yes, last year it allowed the Rooney - Tevez relationship to thrive, but I really think that we need to find some better cover up front, and Saha is not it.

I think it would be folly to sell him to another Premiership side. Thankfully, if the latest rumours are to be believed, he is on the verge of joining either Monaco or PSG.

He has been an infuriating player in the last couple of years solely because we know how much talent he has but his injury record seems to be the stuff sick jokes are made out of. It almost seems as though these injuries are psycho sematic...........................

Anyway, he has to be kept until we have signed Berbatov (or a suitable alternative) and secured a work permit for Manucho.

at this point it looks like we need him more than he needs us. at least until rooney is over his virus or we've bought berbatov, saha really needs to step up.
