Default Saha To Sunderland?

Seems Mr. Saha has been linked with [and threads started in this section] for Roma, West Ham and Bolton.

Now the latest one.

Sunderland are reportedly rumoured to be bidding 10 million pounds for Saha. So is:

i. Is Keano secretly receiving cheques from United if this is true?
ii. This deal would obviously be performance/appearance based to hit the rumoured bid.

Saha would be paired with new arrival Diouf, while Jones recovers from his ligament injury.

Quote:
The club manager Roy Keane, who yesterday completed the signing of Pascal Chimbonda, needs to improve his strike force ahead of the new season as Kenwyne Jones could miss most of it with a knee injury. And Saha, who has failed to become a regular feature under Alex Ferguson could fill the role well.

The French striker, 29, has said he will give Keane an answer in the coming days, and will no doubt have been impressed with the ambition Sunderland are showing ahead of their opening game on 16 August against Liverpool. The out-of-favour United player will also be tempted by the opportunity for regular first-team starts.

Should the deal go through Saha would be paired alongside El-Hadji Diouf once his £2.5 million deal is complete.

Despite Ferguson putting a £12 million price tag on the Frenchman Keane's offer may well be accepted as a speedy deal would provide the Manchester United with the disposable funds to secure a fit goalscorer. But Keane will face competition in the race to land Saha. Reports suggest that French side Paris St Germain also have their eye on him.

Saha arrived at Old Trafford in 2004 for a fee of £12 million. Despite being clouded with injury for the majority of his time at the club he has made 124 appearances and scored 42 goals.

Keane yesterday celebrated his latest arrival Chimbonda and said: "Pascal is one of those rare players who can play anywhere across the back line and that will be invaluable.

"And he also has a lot of Premier League experience which can only be a plus for us."

Simply splendid .

I keep dreaming everytime that whenever Saha leaves united , he is going to join a club and not get injured for a full season and score some goals and sadly even against us .

If Sunderland pay half as what they have promised , i would say thank you very much .

mm I thinks is not terrible if he goes, he has anyway no chance if still another forward comes, then he would have 3 forwards before himself, he would never create this. For him it would probably be the best one.

£10m for a player who features 10 times a season? Excellent. accept it and fuck him off. sign a couple young class strikers. good business that.

If he managed to stay at OT for two months, I think he will be able to stay put for the remaining of the transfer period.

I wonder why he didn't play in any of the friendlies we had so far?!

But if SAF is decided to sell him, I'm affraid he's gone.

Default Re: Saha To Sunderland?

for that much i'd sell him, though I do rate him very highly if he could stay fit he would be one of the best strikers in the prem.
