Default Simpson loaned to Blackburn

Blackburn have snapped up Danny Simpson on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

Quote:
The highly-rated right-back made eight appearances for United last term and is tipped for a bright future at Old Trafford.

However, Gary Neville has now returned to fitness to put pressure on Wes Brown and Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to let Simpson go to Ewood Park for the coming campaign.

The 21-year-old has already had loan spells at Antwerp, Sunderland and Ipswich in his career.

He will now be hoping to play a major role for Rovers after becoming Paul Ince's third signing of the summer.
Targets

Paul Robinson and Carlos Villanueva have already arrived at the club but Ince is hoping to bring in more reinforcements.

"There's another couple of targets we are looking at and we hope to bring them through the door in the next couple of weeks," Ince told Blackburn's official website.

Meanwhile, former Rovers player Bobby Mimms has also agreed to return to the club as goalkeeping coach.

Mimms spent six years with Blackburn between 1990 and 1996 and has now agreed to return after being on the coaching staff with Wolves for the last seven years.

good move imo. We have enough back up in RB and LB and perhaps this would be the perfect season for simpson to go on loan and get a lot of playing time.
