He is a great player, and has a great shot, and also he can play on several positions, think that he`s going to be a great adicion to the squad.

He is a good versatile player but I don't see how there is any room for him in our current squad. His main positions are DM and DC, we already have our midfield stacked and Fletcher, Hargreaves and Carrick can all play as deep lying midfielders.

If you do end up buying him, we can all conclude that it was luxry buy and not one which we really need or will help us strengthen over what we currently have. I think the money we have should be used for a young and learning striker who is not over eager of starting each game.

I wouldn`t agree with you, if Man U buy veloso (who has 20 years) he can replace DMC and DC players, and remember how much injuries we had over the last 2 seasons. He is a great defender, a good shooter, and a good team player.

I never doubted his ability as a player, all i said was we are well stacked and covered in the midfield department for next 5-6 years provided no one leaves. Veloso would truley be a luxury buy instead we should spend the money wisely to fix up the areas of the team which require more depth

Default Agent claims Veloso contact

It seems United have made contact with Sporting about Veloso. Very interested to see if we have players leaving United in January if Veloso is signed during the winter transfer period.

Quote:
Miguel Veloso's agent claims that there has been some informal contact between Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal international is being tracked by a host of clubs from across Europe - but United appear to be hot on his trail.

Veloso has left little doubt about his desire to join United and his agent Paulo Barbosa claims there is some interest.

Interest

When asked on Sky Sports News about any interest, he said: "We think so, some talks with Sporting.

"Informal contact, nothing official."

Barboso reaffirmed that Veloso would like to ply his trade at Old Trafford.

"I think any player would like to play for Manchester United, Miguel would - it would be an honour if it is possible," he continued.

Sporting have already insisted that there is no way Veloso be allowed to leave before next summer and Barboso confirmed that: "January no [he won't move], but perhaps next summer."if Veloso is picked up. Click

Maybe United will do some sort of deal where we buy him, but leave him on loan to Sporting for the rest of their season?

We need this guy, he was the only player on Sporting that impressed me the last time we played them. He can play multiple positions, has great footwork, and he will blend perfectly with the rest of the team. This is a smart young player, a player that will make an immediate impact if he gets playing time. Not only would he be the perfect back up for Evra, but lets just say we got him tomorrow, I'd push him in front of Fletcher and Carrick on the midfield list...hell I'd put him at right back intead of Wes Brown.

on a side note: Send Carrick back to Spurs out of respect for Carrick. Out of respect for Berbatov as well since he needs a good midfielder to give him the ball.
