Default Philipp Lahm to United? updated

Lahm is a very good player, but I think United should look elsewhere for 2 reasons:

1. FC Hollywood doesn't like United and will charge a premimum for Lahm

2. United should try to get Brown resigned. I personally do not want another spot on the starting 11 taken by a non English player. Out of the big 4 clubs, United field the most Englishmen among there starting 11 (Rio, Hargo, Rooney, Brown).

Rumour mill: Reds eye Lahm

UNITED have been linked with a January swoop for Bayern Munich and Germany full back Philipp Lahm.

The Reds, who are set to announce record profits next month, could be ready to release some cash for the versatile 24-year-old.

Lahm can play on either flank and with doubt hanging over Wes Brown's future at the club, Lahm could be the long term successor to Gary Neville, report The Times.

would love to see him at united but they will prob want 20+ million for him, I can see us signing Alan Hutton instead.

MU need Lahm at the Neville position but only as an alternative of Brown. Wesly is one of toughest defenders in Premier League and i really like him. I don't understand why is he leaving MU?

lahm is a very gifted players, no denying that. However, he would not come cheap.

i read an article from owenj hargreaves last year on how he, lahm and some other bayern players watched man utd vs arsenal and wanted to play for either side.

the brown sityuation is strange really. He has played this year most of our games, he is liked by the fans and he has been here for 11 years. So why leave?

Delusions of grandeur? Wanting to go from a so-so fish in a big pond to a big fish in a small pond?

Hutton has been good in the CL and the ECQ's, Fergie was praising his performances a while ago.

If we did get Lahm i definitely wouldnt complain as he is a top player. Having said that he comes with quite a heavy price tag so maybe it is a better idea to look elsewhere. Hutton isnt a bad player and he is getting attention from many clubs due to his performances for Rangers and Scotland so he might be an option and i doubt we'll go for alves.
