Well the list is going to change and it's good to know that head to head the INs will be far better players than the OUTs. It would be brutal to be a fan of a selling club.

Well Sawcross has been officially sold to Stoke for an initial fee of 1 million pounds with it potentially going up to 2 million. This is a very good bit of business for United.

Stoke splash out £1million on Shawcross

Stoke have signed Manchester United defender Ryan Shawcross for an initial fee of £1million.

The 20-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 28 appearances while on loan with the Coca-Cola Championship side this season, has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Britannia Stadium.

Boss Tony Pulis told the club's website: 'I am absolutely delighted to have signed Ryan permanently.

'He has been fantastic for us this season and he will continue to get even better.

'Everyone has worked extremely hard behind the scenes to tie up the deal and we have beaten off several other clubs to his signature which shows we are moving in the right direction.'

The deal will rise by a further £750,000 based on appearances and another £250,000 depending on the club's success.

Keane certainly loves United players.

He just signed another one.

I'm interested to see how Bardsley fares in the EPL. His stint with Villa wasn't too great to be honest.

Deal up to 2 million pounds is rather cheap. Shawcross was just sold for a similar deal and he has no EPL experience. And it was to a Championship side.

Bardsley makes Sunderland switch

Bardsley played 16 games on loan at Sheffield United

Sunderland have signed Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley in a deal that could eventually be worth £2m.

The right-back, 22, who recently ended a loan spell at Sheffield United, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane said: "We needed to strengthen our defence and Phil is a good addition to the squad."

Bardsley added: "Sunderland have a fantastic manager who has given me the chance to come here and play. I'm delighted, it's a massive club."

He joined the Premier League champions as a trainee in 2003, but managed only 18 appearances for them.

Short-term spells with Belgian club Royal Antwerp, Burnley, Rangers and Aston Villa were followed by a recent stint at Sheffield United.

The Blades were keen to sign the Salford-born defender on a permanent basis but Keane has swooped to complete his third signing in January.

United defender Jonny Evans has joined on a season-long loan, while Jean-Yves Mvoto moved permanently from Paris St-Germain.

Bardsley relishes chance

New Sunderland signing Phil Bardsley has revealed he joined the club because he has longed for the opportunity to play under the guidance of manager Roy Keane.

The 22-year-old defender switched from Manchester United on Tuesday when former Old Trafford legend Keane showed an interest in him for the second time in a year.

Bardsley, who witnessed Keane during his playing days at United, believes the boss will get the best out of him as a player and he had no doubts in accepting his offer to move to the Stadium of Light.

Best

"I wanted to play in the Premier League and I have always wanted to have the chance of having Roy Keane as my manager. It's a great chance for me," Bardsley said.

"As a player at Man United , he always got the best out of you, no matter whether it was training, games, everything.

"I am sure he can get the best out of me as a manager. He's got a reputation as a winner, that's the kind of person he is.

"I just look forward to being part of that and I want to win stuff."

Bardsley is the Black Cats' third January signing following loanee Jonny Evans and Jean-Yves Mvoto after he penned a three-and-a-half year deal that could eventually amount to £2million.

He has previously played alongside fellow Sunderland team-mates Paul McShane and Kieran Richardson, who also appeared in the United side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2003.

Place

Now Bardsley is ready to fight for a regular first team place at Sunderland having learnt his trade, as so many of Keane's signings have, under Sir Alex Ferguson.

He has been signed as a right-back, a position which has caused Keane somewhat of a headache during his time in charge on Wearside.

"I played in a couple of Champions League games and a couple of Premier League games, but sometimes you need more than that," he added.

"When I had chances to go out on loan to Rangers, Villa and Sheffield United, it was a great chance for me to go and play every week.

"I am just looking to prove myself, really, and to be a valuable member of the squad.

"I would hope I have got a job to do at right-back, but we have got a big squad, so everyone's looking to cement their place in the team."

I think selling both Shawcross and Bardsley was the right decision. They are not players who can help a world-rep club win more titles.Fergie has shown in the past that he has a judging-potential ability and almost every player he has sold has not reached a high level at their post-United clubs.

Default Happy for Sunderland

Well I'm happy to see Keane appreciating young players from MU. Maybe for Bardsley it would be a chance to recommend himself as a good player. The deal is as better as Sunderland needs players and MU needs money to make a big transfer in summer!

Bardsley deserved to go, his attitude stunk. I've heard a lot of good things about Shawcross, apparantly Fergie rates him very highly but couldn't guarantee him a first team chance any time soon.
