Well, it's silly season right now (Primaries/Caucuses). Time for a new Administration, and the field has gotten progressively thinner to where it's two viable candidates on either side right now.
![]() ![]() On the Democratic side, I wonder if Senator Clinton will regret her decision to forgo campaigning in the Chesapeake states to further her bid in the bigger states like Ohio and Texas. She had time to do that anyway, and if Senator Obama sweeps those 3 primaries tonight, she is going to have a hard time holding back his momentum. ![]() ![]() On the Republican side, I'd really love it if the remaining candidates formed the ticket. I like Governor Huckabee, and I think he'd be a wonderful VP for a Senator McCain bid for the White House. It'd be a very balanced ticket. He still thinks he's got a chance, and I don't blame him, as there are still plenty of states (and delegates) to be had, and they're not all winner-take-all Primaries from here out. So where do you folks stand (and no, "I hope that helps" need not constitute part of your response )?Last edited by RobsonLegend; 02-12-2008 at 09:08 PM. |

question: i don't know enough about hucakbee's stances. that said, has this presidential run cemented him as a GOP leader in future elections or does he need the vice-presidency to do that? if not picked, is he dead in the water?
on the democrat side, I think it's clear one way or another Obama wins here. If Hillary becomes the nomination, he's still a clear democratic leader and probably the face of the party.

I think if he loses, Governor Huckabee has definitely positioned himself well for a run in '12. I can definitely see him running for a Senate position in '10, with a Senate seat opening up in Arkansas that has an incumbent Democrat. He's certainly conducted himself through this campaign with a heck of a lot more class than certain other now-withdrawn GOP candidates.
He really doesn't need the Vice-Presidency at this point. Really, if he's harboring any ambition to become more of a power-player, one could argue that he could do more as a Senator eventually. |

personally, i hope it should be anyone but Hilary. I didnt mind her until she went and attacked obama is such an immature way and after her all crying antics etc.
All that aside im not sure which one will make the better leader. Its hard to tell from what they say since most politicians world wide never live up to what they promised to do.

I had a friend argue with me on a topic about the stance of conservative republicans. He seriously thought that conservatives would pick clinton over mccain. Knowing quite a few conservative republicans, they generally loathe the family, in particular the wife. i think there is a zero percent chance for conservatives to go with anyone other than the GOP nomination at this mpoint. The democrats really do not care what the conservative republicans think, and certainly aren't looking out for their interests. i can't see it

I was really liking a lot of what Ron Paul had to say, but there is no way that he will be winning the nomination. I don't like Hillary Clinton and Obama is too inexperienced for me to vote for him (plus his foreign policy comments are simply retarded). McCain seems to be the best candidate left, I'll likely be voting for him.
