DELTA -- Next time, tell the cops first.

That's the lesson for a group of employees who staged a mock bank robbery, only to have police surround their workplace after receiving a report of masked men inside the branch.

A witness saw staff and customers cowering on the ground during a training exercise Thursday inside the bank in the 1200-block 56th Street in Delta, and called police.

To make matters worse, one of the officers was in a car crash on the way to the call. The cop's cruiser hit a centre median on Highway 17 after being cut off by another driver.

The officer was uninjured.

Staff at the bank were told to advise Delta police ahead of time if they conduct a mock robbery in future, said spokeswoman Const. Sharlene Brooks.

KELOWNA, B.C. -- It was supposed to be a clandestine skinny dip after the lunar eclipse.

But a Kelowna, B.C., couple ended up showing off their full moons to police early Thursday morning after crashing their SUV on the way home.

The adventurous pair had decided to go for the full Monty, not only swimming in the nude but making the drive to and from Okanagan Lake, in the B.C. Interior, in the buff as well.

"They were out for a dip. It would have been -8 C," said Kelowna RCMP Const. Julie Rattee.

After their nippy dip, the pair got into an SUV. While backing up, the driver flipped the vehicle, said Rattee. Police called to the crash scene around

2:30 a.m. found the vehicle on its roof and the couple standing beside it, naked and slightly injured.

"It's pretty funny," said Rattee.

Police issued the driver a 24-hour suspension and sent the two home.
