Man Utd raid Liverpool for top England prospect

Manchester United have trumped Liverpool for teenage prospect Scott Wootton.
The People says the England youth international from the Wirral had been with the Anfield club since he was 12, but he and his family were upset when he was offered only a short-term deal to stay.

Wootton turned down the contract and was immediately picked up by United who offered him the chance to be a professional - after just one run-out in the under-18 side last week.

It is a major slap for Rafa Benitez's club and insiders reveal Wootton left because he thought there were too many foreigners at the club's academy and his way would be blocked.

And the size of his potential was quickly spotted by eager United.

Apparently, like the article mention, he played against Wigan as a trialist and was offered a contract. They say he was quite confident and solid at the back. Also feel very happy to get another one over the dippers

so he is a defender? we already have a lot of quality (reserves) players in there but there are never enoudh moreover, we stole him from Lpool, so it can only be great !

Kinda baffled as to why if he was considered a top prospect they wouldnt offer him a deserving deal. If in fact he turns out to be a quality player then I'll be a very happy man but I have reservations about his quality based on what I stated.
