Rossi on target for Reserves

Giuseppe Rossi scored for United's Reserves in a 1-1 draw away at Fleetwood Town on Saturday as the Reds' second string continue their preparations for the new season.

The Northern Premier Football League club took the lead in the first half and, despite a Rossi-inspired United side dominating possession in the second half, looked destined for an unlikely victory.

However, the Italian Under-21 international, who has returned to the club after loan spells with Newcastle and Parma last season, finally got the goal his performance deserved in the 89th minute to claim a draw in front of around 2,500 fans.
