You know, I really don't give fuck about all the new functions in the latest cell phones. I really don't need them. I use my mobile as a phone and sometimes as a way to cheat on test papers, along with my iPod.
I have been using a Siemens CX70 for 3 years and I'm still happy with my phone, as it has been working very well. Never let me down, never repaired it.
If I could chose a cell phone it should have: big screen, sms, mms, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, camera, notes, reminders and of course a memory card with 500MB, at least.
Thats a nice phone, but i warn you about buying samsungs. They often look great but get a live demo first to see if you like it.
My mate just got the E61 and its a fucking immense phone. Doesn't look great but it has a lot of features.
btw, anyone got the N95 8gb here? I cant get the sat nav on it to work properly, what do i need to do to get it to loads. I also cant connect it to wifi for some reason.

Nokia readies iPhone response -
04-08-2008, 03:04 PM
So lets see... Blackberry, HTC and now Nokia have iphone "killers"
I think Apple will have to put some more bells and whistles or risk losing market share. Mind you there idiot machine... opps, I mean fanboy machine will buy regardless.
Quote:
It appears that Nokia is readying its official response to the iPhone, a project grossly codenamed "Tube" that will feature a touch interface. The new handset -- which is said to closely resemble Apple's device (see above, we assume) -- was shown during a slideshow at the Evans Data Developer Relations Conference in Redwood City, California. The slide demonstrated the phone's UI, including a promotional shot featuring Shrek The Third. Tom Libretto, vice president of Forum Nokia, believes that the company can compete for the iPhone's marketshare, though the phone-maker hasn't set a street date for the device. Apple has sold more than 4 million units since the iPhone's launch, but Libretto smugly noted that, "We've done that [volume] since we've had dinner on Friday," (though he failed to mention that it was 4 million low-end candybar handsets). He then put on a monocle, puffed on a Cuban cigar, and knocked back a tall glass of Cristal while chortling, "Oh, I do say!"
Apple isn't going to lose the market to either of these. LG had a "Prada" phone that came out about 18 months ago, but their supply chain shits for something that was so expensive.
For Nokia, I thought their N95 was the iPhone killer, but eitherway I think there is plenty of room for everyone. Still Apple isn't worried about these phones. They have a lot more to worry about Android than any of these craptastic handsets. The real problem is the operating systems. They need to get upgraded and once that happens, once they are competing on the software side with Google and Microsoft. That's when things get interesting. Right now things are still not serious enough for me to give my undivided attention to the cell wars.

There is a reason I bleed red. United until I die.
Unless Nokia advertise this like mad until they are basically brain washing people into buying it then it will fail. It has to become generic and how are they gunna do that?
Its not the iphone itself thats great, its features os etc arent much to shout about. Its just that its contemporary and the adverts just brain wash people into thinking its great. Iphone has just now become to generic.
its a little bit like the E61 vs blackberry. No offence funky, i know you have one but i just think the E61 is just so much better, you can install more software and customise it more etc etc i can go on all day.

Motorola Q. Been using it for just about a year now. Got it as a birthday present last year. I'm very happy with it. Could do with better battery life (I get about an hour tops if I use the internet browser on it), but other than that, no real complaints.
