4th highest scorer in Serie A last season with 18 goals.
I very interested to see who Sven pairs him up with. Not a bad bit of business. I wonder how he'll do in the epl though.

Bianchi to join Man City for £8.8million
Rolando Bianchi is poised to become Sven-Goran Eriksson's first signing as Manchester City boss after Reggina confirmed they have reached a 'preliminary agreement' for the sale of the Italian striker to the Premier League club.
The 24-year-old was the fourth top-scorer in Serie A last season with 18 goals and has been courted by several clubs across Europe.
But City appear to be in pole position after Reggina admitted a deal was close.
Reggina president Pasquale Foti said: 'We have reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester City for the permanent transfer of Rolando Bianchi to the English club in a 13million euros (£8.8million) transfer deal.
'The deal will be completed on Wednesday.'
Bianchi played a key role as Reggina retained their Serie A status last season - the Calabrian team finished 14th, just one point clear of the drop zone. Here

in fact he's a bit of class. looks like a poacher, which is EXACTLY what shiteh needed. we'll see how premiership defenses do against him, but from what i can tell, he'll put it in the back of the net. unfortunately.

There is a reason I bleed red. United until I die.
1) he's had one good season in italy...there are many players who look good in one season, then vanish totally after..
2) man city is a shit team. i know people will say that reggina is also a shit team, but it comes down to football style. Italian football is more technical and structured; even in the shit teams, players have great technique and structure attacks/defense with more organization...sorry to say, but this doesn't happen with the shit teams in the EPL...they play a fast, hectic, scrambling type of game with no emphasis on technique and structured play (hence people say EPL is more 'exciting')..this almost certainly dooms him to failure..
3) Success of fellow italian league strikers?? horrible....not to mention the failures of high profile players (like sheva), players like maccarone, nonda, corradi e.t.c who were decent players in serie A looked like shit in the EPL...yes, there is some anomalies, like zola, but zola is real class...bianchi just ain't..

corradi was a decent player at lazio
he scored some goals too
however, EPL's style was just NOT FOR HIM....
lol
i agree with you on the hectic styling of lower epl teams. i don't know if it is fair to call them worse than italian teams because of it, but manchester city is surely painful to watch moving forward and we all know that this won't be enough. For Bianchi to be effective, you need a midfield and that really is their weakest link...well that and manager

organization does not mean better...
i watch a ton of italian games so i can honestly say that the organization of the crap italian teams are pretty good..and in all honesty, reggina finished 14, but started at -11...if we gave them those points, they would have finished 7th! which is pretty damn good...
I personally think he will do alright at City, but only if there are players who can provide him with some half decent service. That is why Corradi was useless and every other City striker. Simply no service that was decent enough. You can be tagged as the best in the world but without service all you will have is the tag, with no performances to back it.
