Default Bosignwa v Veloso v Lahm - 02-04-2008, 11:17 AM

Seems that the rumours around United are they are searching for a new rightback in the summer.

Since it is a rumour and since I don't know too much about Bosingwa or Veloso (other than CL play where he was quite good), I figured this thread would be for folks to up yt or other video so we can all see and discuss.

Bosingwa is apparently rated at 15 million pounds. Lahm around the same and Veloso if I'm not mistaken was valued at 20.

So who do you want and why? Vote in the poll. I'll leave it up till Sept. 1.08

If theres another rightback you had in mind, here's the place to discuss them as well.

I voted Lahm, although Hutton would have been first choice.

Lahm 1st choice, Bosingwa 2nd wouldant want Veloso as a RB but I wouldant mind him in the united squad, though our midfield is already very strong.

i think dtunam once said that veloso doesnt actually play as a full back and never has.

attacking wise i would say lahm, he is just would really compliment our attacking mentality but the problem with that is that ronaldo would never track back to cover him in a million years. But i suppose thats the DM's job.

lahm would be too expensive imo but he is a great player.

Brown is adequate but he really isnt the most skillfull and i would be very surprised if neville comes back playing at the same standard as before.

As for boswinga, i have never seen him play tbh.

I say clone evra and teach him to kick with his right, if that may cause legal issues then lahm i suppose.

Veloso is a DM. I'd rather have Hargreaves as a RB than him.

As for the question, you're a retard. Gary is not out of the game, pal, he IS the game.

And you can print on that.

i like Lahm very much, he can play on the right as well on the left, it's a right footer and young so i think United should sign him in yhe summer

I agree that Lahm's the best choice from these three.Veloso is definitely not a right back.

After a few discussions with funky on irc I'd say we should go the route of converting Hargreaves into a full-time RB. Dont get me wrong, I love the guy as a DM but for what he lacks in attack I am honestly beginning to prefer Carrick because of his ability to string lovely passes from a deep position. Hagreaves would definitely still provide his grit as rb and see that he has played in midfield for so long he will be useful as a back going forward. It would also save us a heck of alotta money if this exxperiment turned out well and we'd have Carrick, Fletcher and possibly Possebon (and anderson if desperate) working the role of holding midfielder.

i dont think we need to buy anyone in the summer cos i think brown is going to continue there and then the likes of simpson and rafael will fight for the place not next season but the season after that, cos they need to bulk up before they are regulars. but if brown leaves in the summer then we need someone for a season or two as a temp solution someone like 31 yr old sagnol, what do you guys think of that? oh and great site by the way.

Didn't watch Veloso too much but I'm sure that Lahm is a lot better than the other guys, and has really confirmed at both club & national team. He can also play on the left so he would be perfect imo
