I'd like to apologize for what really is my fault. I think I've set a fairly bad precedent. yes USAmanunited13 you told me so

So look, Zeus' reaction really is a factor of what he's seen from more senior members. We've changed our strategy with dealing with what we consider spam and I don't think we communicated well with that change. While the message is blunt and clear, and we do not apologize for being strict, please don't let this incident implicitly say something about the forum in general. We are trying to balance quality with fair usage of mod rules. In the past I have made posts that are far more bitter and full of sarcastic venom to try to combat poor posting. The ugliness of those posts was purposeful, however it was also misguided on my part as it is on Zeus'. I'd like to point out that your input is absolutely crucial and appreciated. We are human and without your pushback we won't take a second look at our decisions.

That said, hames his tactics did work, because your post is quality.

Roque Santa Cruz, for all his goals, is 27, too slow for our team, and while he's a great finisher, I don't think he'd fit the system. He's a better fit for Liverpool to be honest. In additon, I see a lot of his goals and a ton of them are class, but there are others that are just right place at the right time. If he was Ruud, it would be hard to argue with the numbers that it wasn't just chance, but right now I can't say I would be surprised if he has 10 goals next season. He's not better than Apache, he's not as good as Saha ( yeah i forgot about him too) and I would bet, that to stay sharp he needs playing time. He won't get that at United. You also don't know how he is in big game situations.

I really have a soft spot for Mark Hughes and so maybe that's why I want to see him at Blackburn, but he's also a bit of a risk at united. I'll cross this off as just more media speculation without an ounce of truth to it.

Look at it from this point of view: other users enter this thread, see his post and think: if he's allowed to write in this manner, why shouldn't I be allowed to? So they are going to follow his example.

Tbh, I just don't understand why the hell would you spam? Since you won't get Media Room access when you gather those 35 posts.

Plus, I really hate to see this kind of posts. "He is not suitable" - and why the **** isn't he suitable, could you explain to me? 'cause I'm a dumb idiot and have no idea about this matter?! When you have a point of view, you have to have arguments, otherwise your words are meaningless. And that is exactly what that post is - meaningless.

P.S. no GCM. It ain't your fault. I've always been like this.

OFF TOPIC: ok lads, can we please just get this thread back on topic and calm down a bit? This isnt the "how to deal with spam thread". Youve said your bit and james elaborated afterwards so can we just please leave it at that. I understand its all done for the good of the forum but lets just leave it at that.

On Topic:

Santa cruz brings experience and united dont have a player like him playing as striker.

He isnt the quickest at GCM pointed out but i would say he is average when it comes to pace. His finishing however is usually perfect.

Would he compete with tevez or rooney? probably not. I do however think he could make a good third striker and spread the work load.

IF man united do buy him, i can see them buying a younger striker too just for the future - if welbeck and cambell dont impress.

actually we wouldn't because dean ashton would be in the physios room having a 40 year old man massaging his upper thigh. Leave him to blow bubbles.

Lastly, I think you can do better mate than this. I'd recommend looking at Unitedzone as something other than your typical post one sentence brain fart type forum, particularly if you have any hope of having any chance of having any of the luxuries bestowed upon you from the mods, or otherwise, you're on the wrong path.

I think the end for Saha was reached earlier this season. With regards to him, the club has given him chance after chance after chance, and while it'd be great to see him fit, the simple fact is that those opportunities are few and way too far between.

And as for Santa Cruz, he impressed right off the bat for Blackburn, then dipped a bit, then came on strong again. Not really the sort of consistency we'd hope for in a forward.

It's Goal.com, yes, but there's a report today that Sir Alex is quite confident that work permit issues will work out for Manucho. If that's the case, then perhaps our striker situation isn't as dire as it would be without his permit issues working out.

Santa Cruise is on 19 league goals this season, if he scores in his last game ( against birmingham) he will be a 20 goal a season striker for £3.5 million; a bargain peice of business by hughes.

but personally, i believe that he has been this prolific is becuase of his frequent use as the spearhead of Blackburns attack, and the fact he is the star of the team (him and Bentley) that gives him confidence to score, and also means that the other players may be more willing to take an assist rather than score themselves.

However he wouldn't get that here, and will surely be making the correct career choice by staying at Blackburn.

As for Manucho, i hear he has been recalled from his loan, so hopefully his work permit issues can be resolved, as i have no doubt he can perfrom as a backup player, or a super sub.

I also think Santa Cruz should stay where he is. At Blackburn, he's the star of the show, he's the "go to" guy up front, and he doesn't have to worry too much about competition for his spot. At United, he could hardly be guaranteed to start every weekend and I don't think he'd be all that happy with that.

I'd also be a bit leary of his injury history. After Saha's record (and I think he's done by the way) I'd hate to splash out cash on someone who spends more time on the physio's couch than on the field.

I'd also like to see how Manucho will work out. I'm hoping his work permit issues will be sorted out in time for next season. At 6'2", it would be a welcome addition to have a good sized striker in the box to aim at (no offense of any kind to Rooney and Tevez of course).

Other than that, I'd prefer to see United sign Huntelaar over Santa Cruz as well. At 6'1", he would also provide a head to aim crosses at in the box, and his predatory instincts would serve him well when the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and the rest cause havoc in the box. I think we need one of those Gary Lineaker kind of players who seem to have the knack of being in the right place at the right time to bundle home those cheap little goals that never seem to make it into the goal of the month competitions.
