Default Hornets target United striker - 08-12-2007, 09:34 AM

Can you please keep him thereafter?

Quote:
Watford are reportedly interested in taking Manchester United striker Dong Fanzhuo on a year-long loan deal.

Hornets boss Adrian Boothroyd is keen bolster his attacking options for the new campaign and recent reports indicate he has his sights set on the 22 year-old Chinese international.

Dong is expected to see limited action at Old Trafford this season given the glut of world-class strikers at Sir Alex Ferguson's disposal.

A loan move to The Championship side would probably be the best option for the forward as he seeks regular first-team football in preparation for next year's Olympic Games in Beijing.

If a deal is struck, Boothroyd will be hoping to replicate the success he had when Watford loaned United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster for the last two seasons.

from what i heard of him last pre-season, i expected him to be good because fergie doesnt usually give out false praise...

i cant really say he got a chance to shine, but never the less im disapointed

maybe his performances prove fergie right after all...

also, the championship is very tough for strikers as the defenders go in a bit harder and tougher, plus the pitches are shit so you cant run away from them.

As a Watford fan I wouldn't mind him. He seems good prospect. I don't believe SAF signed him for nothing. He must have something sweet in his boot. True, CCC might be hard for foreign strikers but he seems like a fine player. He would offer different kind of option to Watoford up front.
