Default Rumour mill: Reds eye Veloso - 10-08-2007, 10:38 PM

Going to have to rewatch the United/Sporting matchup to see this chap play. Definitely like the fact that he can play 3 positions well.

If his services were to be used by United, I would guess that he would be a backup to Evra. With Tweety out till March at the earliest, we are quite light back there.

Quote:
UNITED have been linked with versatile Portuguese youngster Miguel Veloso.

The 21-year-old Sporting Lisbon star, who can play at left-back, centre-back and in midfield, is also being tracked by Arsenal and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, United are also monitoring 17-year-old Nigerian striker Macauley Chrisantus, report the Daily Mail.

Default Sporting starlet wants to play with Ronaldo and Nani - 10-20-2007, 07:00 PM

This is getting interesting.

Quote:
Veloso eyes United move

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has stated a desire to join Manchester United.

The Portugal international is the latest Sporting starlet to be targeted by the Premier League champions.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are also tracking Veloso, who shone for Portugal's Under 21 side at the European Championship in the summer.

But the 21-year-old would favour a move to United to play with countrymen Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

Dream

"I would like a new adventure in Europe," Veloso is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

"I would be happy to play for a big club but to play alongside Ronaldo and Nani would be my biggest dream of all."

Well Im not suprised, United are going to use their connection with Sporting to probably accquire another top young talented Portugese player! I watched Veloso during the U21 Euro Championships! He looks like a very good midfielder, with a great left foot! He is very good at dead ball situation! He scored a great free kick in that tournament (check it out on YouTube), I dont think he will take that long to adjust to the Premiership! My only concern is that he might not get a game with Carrick, Hargreaves and Scholes in the way! But if this turns out to be true, then he will prove a good signing! Red Army!

he would probably settle in better at united due to us having nani, ronaldo, anderson and quieroz.

from what ive heard, he can play LB, WB, LMC, CMF, DMF and DC. thats a lot of positions, and he is only 21. i think he would turn out to be pretty good from what ive heard about him and it is also nice to have a few utility players in the team.

looks like sporting really dont want to do bussiness over this guy. Mind you, i remember thet held a similar stance with nani, but they were all too happy to sell once we were willing to pay top dollar.

btw, anyone know whether or not theyre still our feeder club?

well he would be a g reat add to the team but i doubt if this will happen any soon as Sporting president still insisting he will not be sold in january.

Here are Some Quotes from Soares Franco on skysports official site
